Description
This is (in my opinion) a realistic trade deadline for the Penguins. I have a feeling that the O'Reilly trade will take the most heat. What do you guys think? Fair trades? Realistic? Do they help either or both teams?
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Raddysh, Taylor
Additional Details:
Frees up more cap space for the Penguins.
CHI
  1. Kapanen, Kasperi
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Not sure if the Hawks do this, but I don't think they are super tied to Raddysh. Might take a second and third to get this trade done.
2.
PIT
  1. O'Reilly, Ryan ($3,750,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Still a solid player that. With O'Reilly at 3C, that line is now a threat to score and hard to play against.
STL
  1. Blueger, Teddy
  2. Hållander, Filip
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (PIT)
  5. 2025 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
2023 2nd round pick is conditional (if the Penguins make it to the ECF it turns into a first).
3.
PIT
  1. Reimer, James ($1,125,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Although not necessary, this can only work if DeSmith gets put on waivers. I think he would clear, freeing up some cap space.
SJS
  1. 2023 5th round pick (PIT)
  2. 2024 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
San Jose should have no problems making this trade.

The Hawks like Raddysh and especially like his contract. They want to develop him into being the next Hagel and attempt to get that kind of return. It almost certainly won't happen, but 2.5 more years and RFA status means they want more than he's worth today because even if it's just the RFA rights being traded...they're hoping to get alot for him.

Hawks decline. They might take Kap off your hands for that 3rd, but TRad definitely isn't included. To answer your question, Hawks like TRad a lot. I'm not sure adding that 2nd you mentioned even gets him - especially since it looks like that 2nd is in 2025.

You both make good points. His contract is the selling point. Really solid third liner at that cap hit for next year too is probably worth at least a first. Does adding the first get it done?
