I would 100% keep the stuff going to Philly. You can spend 3 million better than on Laughton and MacEwan wouldn't make the team

Maybe but MacEwen is a nice 13-14th to have, based on the matchup. Better wheels than Simmonds, serves same purpose. Engvall is a cap dump to PHI. Laughton is a more talented, physical and two-way player than Kampf, and a better long term option if Kampf wants 2.5mil or more. And laughton could play 2nd line LW as well. But in the lineup above it gives 3 lines that can score.

Kampf is an above average defensive player, but hes not an offensive threat.

Have absolutely destroyed the cap for next season, and the Leafs would have to be sellers this summer.
Really I don't know how much better the Laughton/Boesner, combo would be better this year than Kerfoot/Engvall. Yeah better, but not enough to trade a year's worth of picks, Niemela, Steeves, Hironovan and be in cap trouble next season.

Engvall isn't a cap dump to TO. He's a good player
