The Dream Off-season more realistic

Durzi is definitely on the trade block, but I don't think the Kings want futures for him. They'll use him as a trade chip for an improvement elsewhere in the roster (LHD or Goaltender).

I can see LA going for Gavrikov, Edmundson or Graves maybe in free agency. That would likely mean Durzi is traded. I think Durzi is traded because they can get offence from Clarke/Spence who also need to be paired with a defensive guy

If the Kings have a Gavrikov or Edmundson with Clarke/Spence, they will still likely keep the pairing of Roy and Durzi.

I don't think the Kings are interested in Edmundson any longer. He's been the worst defenseman on a bad Montreal team. I could maybe see a Walker for Edmundson at 50% retention swap, but I doubt it.

Gavrikov is a possibility, but I don't think the Kings 1st round pick is on the table for him.

I still think the prize is Chychrun, but that's a move that's more likely to happen in the offseason.

I would accept that offer as the Los Angeles GM.

If the Chychrun trade is "more likely to happen in the offseason," then that 2024 first-round draft pick is certainly going to be a nice extra asset to have. Sometimes, thinking ahead isn't a one-step process.
