Description
I think that it is of the utmost importance that we get a Centre and a Defenceman at this draft, I dont think that BPA is the best approach, I think that you have to take the player with the most value, I didnt include any wingers because we need centre not wingers, Benson is a winger but he nowadays mainly plays centre and hes a LML boy so we need to keep them. Obviously if we pop up into the top 3 it's Bedard, Carlsson, Fantilli followed by Michkov. Cristall doesnt play centre but he is from Van so he might be worth a shot. When it comes to the blueliner, Reinbacher and Dragicevic are essentially the same player so take your pick, and ASP is an interesting one as he is a good offencive defenceman but hes just not big so I am not sure he is the answer but we shall see

None of the players outside Berdard, Fantilli or Carlsson are ready now or close (say in NHL/AHL within a year) so BPA is the best approach.

Dragicevic, Lukas - Has been on my watch list. Big and Offensive. Years away from NHL though.

Honestly, it wouldn't hurt to draft a Goalie either. Maybe even with the 2nd rounder.

Yeah, count me out for drafting for position. I think they should take BPA, and build a new roster over time. No sense in drafting to fill gaps in this roster.

Its drafting for need, it isnt exclusive to position, but i disagree with the idea of BPA because BPA does NOT mean that you are getting the player who will have the most value, Centres and defenders have the most value, follwed by goalies, then wingers, I think that the winger has to be a fair amount better than the centre to be taken over them, for instance if Michkov is available at 6 and the top 3 are off the board, I would 100% take him even if he is on a contract for 2 years after this. But the difference in the skill of players is usually minuscule when it comes to drafting within 3 picks at the top of the draft and 5 picks in the middle of the 1st that it would be more beneficial to the team to take the most valuable player as opposed to the "best" player
