Drop McCabe for sure. He doesn't matter. Toews doesn't cost a 1st though. He's a 3C now and at 5.25 million he's just not worth his contract at this stage of his career. A 2nd is the reported ask for him by Friedman. Kerfoot may have to go due to cap reasons and despite the popular belief on this site, he definitely has value and could be flipped so a 2nd plus whatever Kerfoot gets you is plenty. You guys seem to think Lafferty is worth a 2nd and if he is, Kerfoot is worth a 1st. Kerfoot is worth a 2nd

No he wouldnt. Lafferty is 1/3 the cost, is younger (1 year but still), and has 1.5 more years on his contract all while having similar production to Kerfoot this year. Both Lafferty and Kerfoot are worth a third max based on their production and usefulness, except Kerfoot is significantly overpaid driving his value down.

Kerfoot scored 50 points last season, can play all over the lineup, is good defensively and kills penalties. He's been doing it for a while now. Points aren't everything and Kerfoot is a good player. Being overpaid is just a silly thing to say. Someone will pay over 4 for him next off season. He's a much better player than Lafferty
