No point in trading Murray, most if not all of that money will be needed for Matthews and Nylander's potential extensions, but maybe it's done for some flexibility to add rentals at the deadline.

If the Leafs add McCabe, they won't pursue Gavrikov since Timmins will definitely be given a chance to play, pretty sure they are sitting hin out so that he can be more affordable next year since he's been pretty good in terms of production at least and solid defensively. Guessing they sign him at around 1.4mx2. Without Gavrikov, that will leave some money to give Toews a decent offer. They should also probably just have Woll or Kallgren playing.
