I think you have more faith in Kampf being a viable 3rd line center than I do. Hes a good defensive player, but you need more than 23-29 pts a year in this system, with that playing time. Not only does it mean ROR can complete the top 6, it also gives you a very good 2 way line of Kerfoot/Knies-Laughton-Jarnkrot, with a physical defensive 4th line with ZAR-Kampf-Lafferty.

Leafs have made alot of now moves, Laughton at 2mil a year is a far better option for now and the next few seasons, especially as (IMO, the inferior) Kampf will get more than that as a UFA at seasons end

Kampf will want more than this and Laughton is the better player, and plays physical. Say its too much in trade or explain how this wrecks the leafs?

You know Accari exists right?

Also ROR is going to be 3C. There’s no fighting it. Knies is most likely being 2LW but even at 3LW is fine and Jarkrok can stay at 2LW

Yeah, I would have Accairi over ZAR on the 4th line, hes not really a 3rd liner and while a solid depth guy, in this post season you want offensive depth. Accari has 1 pt in 5 games so far, and while I like his grit, I think he is average in a two way role. Having ROR on 3rd line, weakens 2nd line with Jarnkrot. Lafferty, Accari are nice muckers, play the boards, better than what we had, but neither are real offensive. I just think a top 9 with laughton over Accari or Lafferty is better, and laughton isn;t a single TDL addition.

And without a minute of NHL experience, the idea that Knies will come into the 2nd line is a bit crazy, maybe next year, maybe in a 3rd/4th line role this playoffs, but Keefe, Dubas, the team cant afford another falter this year.

And while ZAR, Accari, Kampf are all UFAs, Laughton isnt. Every year we trade for momentary grit/physicality, Laughton brings that and he and Lafferty in the bottom 6 are the best options, with McCabe, Schenn, Giordano playing big stay at home/physical minutes on defense.

Gone all this way to get ROR, McCabe, Schenn, might as well go a bit further

Tell me the way you set up your draft picks for the next three years wasn't on purpose.
