I would think that JGP and Garland get better returns than that. If that was the price for JGP I would hope Detroit be all over it.

it's rumored that Vancouver will buy out garland , I figure they would take a 4th for him to get rid of him.

A 5 mill 3C who's on the wrong side of 30 won't cost more than this IMO. I hope im proven wrong

Part of me wonders how open the Canucks would be to a JGP-Garland swap if you're looking to move him - maybe a small asset goes with Pageau to make up for the age difference. But it feels like it could be a swap of two guys that would fill holes on their new squad - Vancouver doesn't really have a strong defensive C like Pageau, and Garland would be the play driver the Isles need on their team. Feels like there's a win-win scenario there.

I'm also super interested in Connor Clifton as a potential Mayfield replacement. Clifton's typically put up very good defensive GSVA numbers in limited/sheltered minutes - if he could be had in the $2-3M AAV range I think he's a great replacement for that 3rd pair.
