LA makes sense to me because they are up and coming, big US market so it could be attractive to resign.

Leafs are taking a cap dump in Petersen and get back 5 solid assets in return. I'd say this gives the leafs a likely long-term 2C in Byfield and 2-4D in Clarke.

This is the high rish/high reward option of brining in Bedard. CBJ gets a player who will instantly be a top guy and can play with Laine and Gaudreau instead of needing to waste their prime years as Bedard gets up to speed.
