So Clifton gets more and he isn't signing somewhere to sit. I have to admit I'm curious what geekie in an expanded role might look like. He's 24 growing as a player , good hands, good size. I'm not sure that's the deal I'd make but I wouldn't dislike a guy like him getting a look.

Yeah, Clifton was a throw in, could be a number of guys.

I like Geekie because he's got decent numbers and underlying stats, and played well with Ras. Ras is great with Copp also, so if we can get some Copp-Geekie chemistry, that could be a low-key great line.

As a Jets and Kraken fan it WOULD be intriguing to see if those 3 would make for a decent "all-weather" kind of line in Detroit, for sure! But I'd hate it if SEA moved out a young center for 1 year (likely) of Perron. Not implying Geekie has 40 goals in him, but look at Tage Thompson as an example of patience paying off . . . waiting for big young centers with upside. There's definitely more there with Geekie, and considering Francis drafted him in his time with Carolina, and then surprised everyone by selecting him over the likes of Bean & Niedereitter in the Expansion Draft, I think this deal likely doesn't get much traction out of Seattle.
