Nothing enticing for Winnipeg

I would think it starts with Pickering, your first this year

laugh Not even close for Helly DeSmith sucks Rust isn't waiving his NMC for any Canadian team plus if Winnipeg is in selloff mode they're not adding an aging Rust. Doubt Pittsburgh has the assets to get Connor Hellebuyck. And hometown Detroit would easily outbid Pitt for his services.

Oh man that'd be a great trade for the Jets! I'd take some shorter term cap back to make that work for the Pens.

I doubt WPG wants to do a full rebuild. Hellebuyck is probably a piece they want to keep if they are gonna try to retool. But, if they have enough confidence in their defense, it could make sense for them to spend his cap hit somewhere else in the roster. I doubt they value Rust highly enough to do this, though.

Also, just saw that Hallander signed back with his SHL club and is returning to Europe. I think the main reason he came to the AHL was because his Timra IK was relegated. Transfer agreements between the NHL and SHL require him to stay in the SHL unless he is either actually playing in the NHL or he turns 24 years old. I'm pretty sure PIT retains his rights and he will return to their reserve list, and even though he is signed with Timra through the 27-28 season, he is free to walk away from that contract and come back to North America as long as he is playing in the NHL or turns 24.
