Description
This is my rough guestimate of what happens for the Jets this offseason. Cheveldayoff has kept his job and he is hell-bent on keeping the status-quo alive. Chevy moves Dubois to MTL while trying to convince Schief and Hellebuyck to re-sign by staying just mid enough to be in the wild card race, and the Jets stay in f*** purgatory with the team culture equivalent to mean girls.

Seems like ownership is OK with the status quo in Winnipeg. Do you think that will trigger players (who aren't the problem) to ask for a trade out?

100%. If the jets are okay with being a mushy middle team, helly and scheifele are gone. And the fans are going to be mad to say the least.

The jets CANNOT be a mushy middle team if they want to make a run at signing helly and scheifele. The fans will also riot. If that's chevy's plan, he needs to be fired. Cant the jets ownership see that the fanbase is not happy? Though after that guilt-trip season ticket sale attempt, I don't think the ownership knows how to run a business. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case though since its a real estate company that owns a hockey team...

Wheeler isn't going to retire. He'll need to be bought out or moved. Since a buyout is rather expensive, moving him with retention is the way to go. Schmidt also needs to go. And dillon has significantly more value than that

The best thing that could happen to the Jets is Scheifele and Helle saying they're not interested in signing therefore forcing the Jets to trade them and rebuild.

The Jets need to rebuild and neither guy will be worth their next contract.
