They get out of a terrible deal in binnington and reduce the cap term of Schenn from 5 years to 2 years

This is a value trade for them where they win the L/T

Leafs lose in the L/T value as Schenn will be a poor contract his last 2 years and Binnington is a cap dump we are banking on to be good enough to play the playoffs and pull a Bob

Brodie is a 1 year deal at 5M

The Sabres want a low end 3D or quality 4D who plays defensive to pair with Powers or Dahlin

They have their 1-3D in place

Dahlin
Powers
Samuelsson

They want a reliable experienced 4D who they can assess and look to extend if he fits well

Brodie plays both sides and his next deal will be in the 3M range so works for the sabres

Hes a low end 3D ao a 2nd rounder and another pick is not insane. Similar to Matt Niskanen when he Caps dealt him to the flyers as a player

Dude, no. Binnington is about the least of the Blues' problems. And for the millionth time, the Blues do not want any of your 11M players. No no no.
