Description
Duchene to Leafs seems like a pipe dream, but the best Duchene we've ever seen has been under Babcock for Team Canada. Avs get Dermott which is an underwhelming return, but a very good defensive prospect. There's no picks , but that's where JVR comes in. JVR will be much easier to move at the deadline and will garner a 1st for sure and then some. Fehr gives the Avs some center depth and cap/contract relief for Leafs.
The Brown contract is a 'give or take' guess at what he'll end up with. But who knows, didn't expect Zaitsev to get 7 years.
The rumor is Bozak for Holden + a pick. Makes sense if another center is brought in.
I'm basically just bored at work, but if this happened.. the Leafs would be one of the most exciting teams to watch.

Pipedream? IMO nightmare. At the NHL level, is Duchene really any better than Bozak? Let's forget international competition (the Worlds especially) as any kind of level of high competition. The best players are still in the NHL.
Why give away 55 point man Bozak so the Leafs can acquire another (and Leafs have plenty) 6th Man. Dermott could be NHL ready this season.
I'm not saying Duchene is better than JVR but gee Duchene had 43 points last year and JVR 29 goals and 62 points. You really think Duchene and Holden makes the Leafs better than JVR. Bozak and Dermot?

Right, but the thing you forget is Duchene got 43pts in his sleep. Should have a 70pt season for the BJs next year.

If you're trading for Duchene, he's going to be on your roster 5+ years. You can afford to chip in some draft picks.

I'm not saying you should, Duchene's value is at its lowest right now. But if you want him and COL is asking for your final best offer, it's in your control.

2 things. In what world does Colorado want a rental that will leave them for a good player with 2 years on control. Also Toronto needs defense not offense.
