Description
- Gio retires. Too old to play a significant role on a championship team with where the salary cap is at. Force retirement with a job in the front office. Coaching???

- Murray stays on LTIR the full year, gets his money on Rebids Island.

- Trade Tavares by any means necessary. He is an anchor for this team. and before you bring up his stats, look at how many were on the power play an take into account his effectiveness at 5on5, which is non-existent. Trade without retention by any means.

- In attempt to have Tavares waive his NMC, strip his captaincy and give it to Morgan Rielly, the one who should have been named captain years ago.

- Nylander for Wilson is a trade made In heaven. Leafs get a mix of toughness, grit, and skill into their top 6. Washington gets younger and more skilled for the remaining years of Ovechkin. Nylander is best friends with Sandin, his father played in Washington, they can extend him long term as a 1 or 2 option on the team rather than 3 or 4 on Toronto.

- Liljegren and Gabbro both get fresh starts. Both had high potential but have struggled a bit at the NHL level. Change of scenery could be beneficial for both of the players and both teams.

- Holmberg and Karl get basic deals with chances to earn NHL spots. Holmberg ideally is 4C. Karl requires waivers starting next year so he should be given a shot on the NHL roster to start, just to see what we have.

- Samsonov gets a fair cap hit (would even give 4 years). However, I expect Woll to be the teams starter at some point throughout the year. Whether it is Samsonov or anyone else, allocate that money for a solid goaltender. Having Woll at around 750k for 2 years is a luxury. He is very good and that surplus in money can be allocated for another goalie, or to the back end.

- Bertuzzi gets paid and gets a great opportunity to play with star players. Brings an attitude that the team lacks.

- Mayfield gets paid, a reliable legit partner for Rielly with pedigree. Adds size and meanness to the blue line. As well as brings a bit more mobility. Guys will think twice before dumping it in his corner.

- O'Reilly signs a 3 year $5.5 million contract. fair number and term for his age. NEED HIM IN THE LOCKER ROOM. as well, a very effective player either at 2C or 3C.

- Jt Compher gets a large contract. Will play as 2C OR 3C. good skater with Stanley cup experience. Will bring versatility to the group. Critical player of any winning team.

- Acciari comes back. Teams will offer him more money (2.5?). However, the 4th year and the chance to play for a strong team can sway him into resigning.

- Corey Perry gets $1 m million. Do not care what anyone says, he will help with the change in culture and is still an effective 4th line player. Regular season stats for him means nothing after what I saw from him in the 1st round. (if not him then MAYBE Lucic??)

- Marshall Rifai is a Dman on an AHL contract with the Marlies. Good skater with decent size. Should get an NHL contract with the team. around 120 PIMS with some fights tells me a lot about who he is and what he brings. Could be a Bobby McMann type player but as a defensemen (good fringe player who is capable, on a low cap hit)

- Matthews and Marner do not play together. Both have so much skill and talent. Instead, they will play with players who can create space for them which is essential for the playoffs. Knies and Wilson will create space for 34, they will retrieve pucks, and more importantly, they can both finish.

- Marner gets a reliable and smart centre men in O'Reilly. Very strong on the puck which will help get the puck in 16's hands. Bertuzzi will be a pain in the ass for other teams, with a great ability to score goals. Him and Marner would be great together, especially wth the support of O'Reilly.

- 3rd line has a mix of grit, speed, and skill. Most importantly, reliability. A very strong and reliable 3rd line that will definitely chip in offensively. Can play against other top lines.

- 4th line is a mix of size, speed, and skill with a tendency to go through players rather than around them. I can see this line being very effective if given the opportunity to develop chemistry over a period of time. (Perry comes in every so often)

-

- Rielly and Mayfield give you the element of "1 of each". With Rielly's recovery speed, will make for a very strong pair.

- I know brodie struggled in the playoffs, but I still view him as a valuable 3 or 4. will be a good partner for Gabbro in an attempt for him to blossom into the Defencemen he was projected to be.

- McCabe as a 5 or 6 would be great, that is where he is on any contending team. Timmins gets a year in the Top 6 to develop into a top 4 option once Brodie's contract expires. Great puck skills, smart. Will run PP2. A year focused on developing his defensive game would greatly benefit him.

- Samsonov and Woll split the net, I believe Woll eventually takes over and is the Game 1 starter in what I hope can be a long playoff run with this roster.

Hawks would probably accept but JT never waives for Chicago.

Fabbro played more sheltered minutes this season but actually had a pretty underrated season.
Liljegren was also pretty sheltered but had a great season.

I would take this, from the Preds perspective, but I doubt Dubas would. Holl should be leaving and Liljegren should (hopefully) be getting more utilized.
Fabbro will probably see more minutes this season as well.

I don’t think this is a trade either team needs to make
