Description
Dorion says that he's spoken to a GM as of Monday (oh, and that crazy comment about being in the "check-out lane" LMAO).

We play a fantasy game of "let's hope that it's Colorado and DUCHENE!".

In this scenario, Burnaby Joe aka. Mr. Asking Price is Way Too Unrealistic aka Mr. Doesn't Know What He's Doing, accepts a deal which provides him with his coveted "young D in his early 20's" (Mr. Cody "workrhorse - 20 minutes+ a game" Ceci), and his 1st round pick.

In addition, he also receives a rookie (Dzingle -
signed by OTT/ or given 1.5 from Arbitration and traded) who put up generous points in his first season, and with some practice, can improve on his "finish" with added minutes to a young Avs team.

Lastly, he's given a hard-nosed, grinding C/LW in Smith, who not only puts up decent numbers, but can play up and down the lineup, including taking important faceoffs and protecting the young kids.

Duchene starts on LW but can take draws as well.

Notes:

Chabot makes team out of camp as LD and pushes Phaneuf back to RD as he prefers.

White makes team as well. Him and Burrows will play up and down the line-up (i.e. sheltered mins occasionally for White).

Huge Sens Fan and as someone who thinks Duchene would help the team and take them to another level I am not willing to give up the future and I personally think this is the best Trade option for both sides including ottawa As a fan I would be on board. Especially because I think Brown and and Chaplik are about ready to make the jump soon. Seriously Well done in thinking this one through I like it alot will it happen probably not. However I love the ideas.

Yeah any idea about a Duchene trade will most likely be quashed due to budgetary reasons etc (have to sign Turris/Stone next year, with EK coming up soon). Nice to dream though!

Thanks for your kind comment. I try to post at least "semi-realistic" propositions compared to a lot of our other posters lol.

Have a great day!

I like the effort you put into explaining your thoughts. Bravo for not just slapping something together.

Unfortunately, can't really give equal backing to the trade offer.

You can be sure way more has already been offered by other teams for Duchene. About the only thing in the offer that makes sense is the 1st rounder. None of the players included come close to Duchene's level.

Ceci is a decent d man, but he isn't a top pair guy..sorry he just isn't, not by today's NHL standard. Dzingle is a bottom six winger...and Zach Smith is a bottom six center. Before you say anything about what they "could" be, they are 25 & 29 respectively. They both have likely already shown you what they have...especially Smith. That isn't close to enough for a true 1st line center who is just entering their prime.

This would also mean your waving goodbye to Turris.

PS, I am not an AVs fan =)

Appreciate the comment! I agree with you wholeheartedly. Just working with what we have (BTW - org seems to overvalue the hell outta Ceci and was hoping Avs' scouts would take the bite muhahaha lol)! I had thought about maybe adding White into the equation and possibly swapping out one of Dzingle/Smith. Either that or attempting to send Brassard to at least give them a 2C.

So many ideas and way too much time spent wasting typing space on them as none will ever come to fruition (DAMN YOU, BUDGET + EUGENE MELNYK!! *shakes fist*)! lol

EDIT - Maybe something like:

Ceci
Brassard
White/ (or Dzingle)
1st Round 2019

Duchene
