Backlund don't deserves that much, cause he's a rental. If he had 3 or more years left on his contract, then your trade would be a good one.

Value is close, I think Calgary holds onto Backlund though. He played our most important center minutes last year and the drop off from Monahan to our next center would be too big to compete. Talks have also started between the Flames and Backlund about an extension. Backlund was drafted by the Flames and a lot of people wrote him off early because of his play, the team stuck with him and nowe they are being rewarded with on of the best 2C's from last year, sets a good example to the younger guys keeping him around.
