So call me crazy. But I’d rather be in control of Krug’s retention than Philly. I’d rather not acquire Hayes or Sanheim. Why don’t we just bite the bullet and retain however much we need to on Krug. $3.5M for 4 years? Whatever, we should do that and trade him ourselves. Let’s sign O’Reilly to a $5M AAV deal for like 3 years. Maybe sign someone like Soucy to partner with Faulk?

Vrana - Thomas - Buchnevich
Neighbours - Schenn - Kyrou
Saad - O’Reilly - Kapanen
Toropchenko - Alex/Dean - Blais

Leddy - Parayko
Soucy - Faulk
Perunovich - Scandella

Binnington
Hofer

If the Blues could get all that for Krug, they could just trade him to Florida themselves. Hell if they could half that from Florida, they'd do it themselves. Hell, if they could just get future considerations from Florida... in other words, Philly are making out like bandits here.

Also, I'm not interested in Sanheim and would rather keep the 1st. I think about half of us feel that way and half of us want Sanheim.

I like your general direction here, but retaining 4x3.5M??? That's waaaay too much. And most importanlt, moving Krug out is our best chance to finally get Colt a proper partner. Leaving Leddy top pairing is stomach-churning. Cannot happen.

No I agree. Also I messed up on Krug, we can’t even do $3.5M retained. I think if we retain around 40% (~2.6M) there will be people wanting Krug. And yeah, even Soucy would potentially work with Parayko. Just not a strong class for free agents this season. Wonder how Leddy and Faulk would play together.
