Jackets aren’t giving up a potential 1C for 3 years of kirill. He doesn’t make them a contender and the last thing the jackets need is another highly paid winger

Appreciate the creativity, but I don't see us moving an established player like Kaprizov for a pick - even if the assumption is that whoever we take at 3 would be a star NHL'er.

I actually think Anaheim is a better partner for this than Columbus. Columbus is in a similar spot to the Wild in terms of centers and 3OA gives them the opportunity to fix that problem. Anaheim already has Zegras and McTavish, do they really need Fantilli...? They could definitely use a winger for Zegras, though, and Kaprizov would be perfect. They also have the cap space to absorb his contract.
