Description
I used what the lineup that will most likely look like but I switched gaudreau and tkachuck. I did this because I think tkachuck is a better playmaker than gaudreau and if a pure playmaker like tkachuck can just feed monahan and ferland I wound not be surprised if monahan can get to 40 and ferland gets to 20+ goals. Gaudreau playing on the second line with backlund and frolik seems like a good idea to me because they are both great two way players and can have gaudreau cheat a little bit on the defensive end and can lead to a lot more breakaways and easier zone entry's.

I like where you are going with this and that top line looks Sick! The second line, or any line, with Backs and Frolik should be Calgary's 3rd line or checking line - like last year they will be tasked with facing the oppositions top line most nights... Thus I would play JH with Bennett and Foo (or Lazar) and play Versteeg with Backs + Frolik... This shelters JH on the 2nd line (keeping him away from the 1st line slashers and 3rd line checkers)... This will give Calgary a dominant and massive first line (like the Ducks or Sharks) plus 2 fast skilled lines to back them up and probably the best 4th line in the NHL!

Now lets fix the D pairings (dam that sound cocky - right!)... So Gio + Hamilton - great combination but what happened to Gio's point totals? his worst showing since 2010 I think? What happened is... Hamilton took all the shots! Gio's shooting % did not drop he just got less shots - because he was setting up Hamilton. With Gio + Hamilton as a pair they will continue to share shots on net - about 400 between the 2! How do we get them both - yes BOTH into the to 10 in D scoring? WE SPLIT THEM UP! Both play with a good set up partner and both get massive PP minutes - 1st and 2nd - take turns... 1st isn't going to score every time! So now both players... 1 with Brodie the other with Hamonic or wait... how about with Stone (better set up guy) - Hamonic then ancores the 3rd pair and is an upgrade to Engelland? As I was saying both players get 200-250 shots each and with shooting %'s of 5.9 (Ham) and 7.6 (Gio) our D lights up the opposition! Right Gio's shooting % is higher than Hamiltons - so why did Ham out score him last year? BECAUSE HE TOOK ALL THE CAPTAINS OPPORTUNITIES!!!! Easy Fix! Especially with 5 top 4 D-men!
