Description
*Reinbacher would start in MTL and give him a try for 10 games to see if he can contribute at the NHL level right off the bat; If not, you send him back to Lava and bring back Wideman on the Scratches.

You buy-out Hoffman and Armia, both won't have a major impact on the Cap Hit during the next years. Hoffman will be a 1.6M hit in 24-25, and Armia a max of 1.4M$ until 26-27. With expiring contracts and younger team, you have more than enough space to resign next year and the year after.

Yes, I'm putting up the Lafreni;ere deal again. Simple, he was a Gorton pick, he believes in him, NYR won't have enough to sign him IF, and only IF, they want to sign either Kane or Tarasenko again. THey could also go for Krejci if they are willing to bring him in. Case is that I don't know another GM willing to spare some depth, a prospect, plus 3 picks other than Gorton fro Lafrenière. THis would close the case on his file in NY and provide some good return at very low cost for NYR. The picks could become very valuable for them to either move another contract around before the trade deadline, or during next summer. THey have multiple high paying contracts so this could be viewed as a potential good risk for them. Laffy ain't the 100Pts player he was seen as. He'll be a potential 70 to 80 Pts max if he ever gets there.

Trades
MTL
  1. Lafrenière, Alexis [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Lafrenière would be welcomed in MTL, but he's not worth the current price I'm offering. Having only levelled up to less than a 40Pts season in 3 years, he isn't the generational player he was seen to be when he was drafted.

I'm overpaying for him since Gorton was the man in place when they picked him 1st overall. I'M thinking he's the only one that would, could overpay to get his services.
NYR
  1. Beck, Owen
  2. Pitlick, Rem ($550,000 retained)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (COL)
  4. 2024 3rd round pick (MIN)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Habs provide 3 picks, including the CAL 1st rounder.
THey provide a well rounded 4th liner at minimal cost to help NYR with their cap space; They can resign Tarasenko, Kane or even try to get Krejci to move Goodrow or Chytil on the wing.

I would recommend to play him on the left not right. He is so much more comfortable playing left.

I don’t know why fans of every team think Laffy can play RW. If he could then rangers would have solidified their top 6

Rangers likely wouldn’t take that offer - it’s not about the value, it’s more about the fit. They’re more likely to try to develop him this year under a new coach and give him more ice time to see what they have, if he’s moved it’ll be next summer or at the deadline but regardless it’s not going to be for picks and prospects but for immediate help. Could maybe see him in a deal for Anderson if it’s to Montreal, but it has to be someone that’s already established in the league.

Montreal also can’t buy out Hoffman or Armia. In order for them to have another buyout window they needed to have someone file for arbitration - & unless I missed it I don’t think they have anyone scheduled for arbitration so they can’t buy anyone out
