Description
If Toronto buy's out Murray, Ottawa has the draft capital an cap space to offer sheet Bouchard - Edmonton would have to clear around $2,230,000 to match (and would have 4+ players on league minimum in that scenario). this would mean replacing Kulak or Ceci with another league minimum D-man, and having Caggiula, Pederson, Malone on roster, and would have to let McLeod walk. Edmonton may match, but I would expert it would make them think.

Additional Details:
Isles had a terrible power play, and only one defenseman capable of being on it. Brännström is better suited to add offense on the 2nd PP and can add offense at 5v5 with first pass and skating - essentially he is a poor mans Ryan Ellis. Isles get him for almost nothing, creating a low risk acquisition.

Think the rebuilding team will keep the younger, cheaper, better player.

Doesn't look cap compliant for 223/24...especially bonuses to be paid. Then how to pay Sanderson next season without any big expiring contracts, and other players to sign.

Change NYI's 4th to Aho and I think they'd consider it. Brannstrom is a low-risk medium-reward defenseman we could use.

NYI I'm sure would also consider Brannstrom and a 2025 2nd for Wahlstrom.

Hawks obviously decline. I'm not sure the Hawks would take Joseph for the 3rd and the 4th with nothing going back to Ottawa. Joseph is just another bottom 6 forward, of which the Hawks have too many already.

I am pretty certain the Hawks would want at the very least a 2nd+....Joseph does absolutely nothing for a rebuilding team at rock bottom and as such is nothing more than a 6 million dollar bill (9 he is owed verses paying a kid a million).
