Description
Tampa creates approximately 1.7 available after trading Myers and sending Fleury and one of Brown/ABB down. Someone like Suter or perhaps Nick Ritchie could be on the radar. If Tampa is willing to go with 21 players, they can push available cap to around 2.4 and then maybe see about Tatar, but I think the plan is to go with 22.

Didn't the Coyotes GM recently say he's not interested in taking cap dumps? They already have more picks than they know what to do with for the next few years.

My guess is they are still open for business if there was something too good to be true offered. This isn't it. If I were a GM with cap, I'd be looking for a second+ depending on the contract. If the other team thinks the player "shouldn't" take that much to move (like Myers whose contract is not obscene), I would simply say we're not the right partner for you. Go find the team that wants the sixth round pick or bury him.

There are only so many roster spots and so much salary in the budget. AZ is pretty well filled out on both.

No shortage of guys who can be a 6-8 d, even in the Coyotes' system. They need a top four guy. If there is a steady D who can eat 20+ minutes a night reliably on a short term deal that a team is looking to dump because his hit is too high, then yeah, I guess the Coyotes would take a look at taking something negligible for the dump. Myers isn't that guy.

All sorts of fans who think they'll hit the dump lottery getting someone to take their undesirable contract because "it isn't too bad". If it isn't too bad, bury him, buy him out, or find a team that actually needs him.

Coyotes are waiting on Dumba, yes? I think they made him an offer but he's still shopping around.

Pretty clear that they are his plan E if no-one can clear cap, but I'd still be thrilled if it works out.

I think he'd be a good fit there.
