That's what you pay for a 20-30 goal scorer.

    BTW OP quality troll.

No, I understand that's what a 30 goal scorer would get. But Kane has too much BS that comes with his presence. I'm not an idiot, and only an idiot would wanna pay that much for a guy who has been described as a locker room "cancer."

Honestly he has fixed that locker room "cancer" problem for the most part. He didn't seem to have it last season so I don't think that is a valid argument anymore. IMO, he only really had that problem in Winnipeg because of Byfuglien.

Haha. Thanks. I think I'd be more of a troll if I pretended Chicago would trade either of its salary cap albatrosses, though, and I do think these guys can help the Caps succeed against Pittsburgh. But Kane's likely contract, along with the one I'm afraid Carlson might get, is what made me give up any semblance of experience at left D, which might be just a bit of a liability against Hornqvist, Kessel, and the like. Probably this is overly optimistic, but I like Toews' skating speed against those same guys, and if the Caps can add Marchesault and Kane up front, while keeping Oshie, Burakovsky, and Ovechkin, they should all be able to score a few goals, now and then. But the real cost is having to let go of Orpik and Orlov. Johanson and Djoos would have to be amazing in 17-18 to have a chance of this working.
