Bro said upgrades and then replaced Guentzel and Pettersson with lateral moves that were poorer fits for what the Penguins need.
We replace a perennial 35-40 goal scorer with a playmaker/defensive specialist when we already don't have a lot of shoot-first guys.
We replace our best defensive defenseman with an offensive defenseman when we just picked up Erik Karlsson.
On paper, Lindholm and Hanifin are pretty equivalent to Guentzel and Pettersson. In reality, the Pens need what Jake and Petey bring to the table a lot more.
