SEA declines. This trade is ludicrously bad for SEA. There are 2 primary issues with this. 1. Grubauer has a NTC this year, and the a M-NTC for the rest of his contract. There is a snowballs chance in hell that he waives to go to Philly, so that kills the deal there. 2. Hart would be an upgrade, I won't argue that, but Laughton is completely unnecessary given SEA's lineup. In SEA's lineup, Laughton would likely be on the 3rd line, but Tolvanen was scoring at a similar pace and is 6 years younger, so he still is growing into a better player. Additionally, SEA just drafted Sale, who is also a LW. SEA has no need for a middle 6 winger, when the current middle 6 is as strong as it is.
Even with all of this, the package of Wright, a 1st, and 2nd is something SEA would pay for Hellebyuck or Saros, not Hart and an unnecessary depth piece for SEA in Laughton. SEA has no reason to give up on a potentially franchise player in Wright after a year of him playing at a pro level for a slim chance to win. As much as I still savor the playoff win against COL, there is no denying that SEA played a weakened COL considering all of the injuries they had, so SEA is still a couple of years from being true contenders. No need to rush it.
