Not sure what Conroy wants to do in Calgary. I don't think the offer is crazy, but I don't think the offer is right either.

If they plan to stay in the mushy middle as Conroy previously stated, then they will need a Center coming back.

The jets aren't retaining and waiting 2 years for a 1st for a lowball offer.

Jeremy Swayman isn’t a low ball offer. Arguably the most appealing young goaltender in the league right now. Personally, the more I think about it … I don’t trade him in a package for Scheifele. I’ll bank that no team is going to trade significant value for him and buy him out of this free agent class. Overpay for him contract wise just once

Jets know all too well the lack of value goalies seem to return in trades. Not that Boston wants to move one of their 2 I understand but… they don’t return 42 goal scoring centres

My guess is Schiefele’s value is closer to Ryan O’Reilly than Bo Hovart. Not necessarily because his ability, but because of his age.

Go ahead and disregard the fact that both Schiefele and Helle are going to be 31 years old at the time of free agency. The team acquiring both of them will have to buy them out of FA. Same problem the Bruins will have with Ullmark next year though next years FA seems more favorable for the Winnipeg pair.

FA’s entering their 31 year market is a real tough sell. They are likely going to get more years than ideal especially if they are in their prime.

To be clear, I’m not sure I’d trade Swayman and Forbort for Scheifel and Stanley because of it. Part of me wants to wait for a goaltender for player deal with Ullmark on one of the teams that misread the goalie market and I believe there will be a few that did.
