Description
I like both players, and don't think they need to be traded by any means. And trading them just for futures hurts the team now, so it won't happen. But trades with today and tomorrow in mind are possible, since it's unlikely they both re-sign beyond this season.

Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Järnkrok, Calle
Additional Details:
Toronto downgrades a bit on the deal, but for the benefit of getting younger and cheaper. Jarnkrok is a good #3 C, and he is locked up long term. The deal gets Toronto the cap-space they need to lock up their young forwards, while keeping depth at C. Now Nylander can stay on the wing and Matthews/Kadri can center the top 2 lines long-term.
NSH
  1. Bozak, Tyler
Additional Details:
NSH gets a bit more offense with this trade. Bozak could be easily re-signed for a decent price, and Nashville has the cap-space to do it no problem. Bozak is the better player on-the-ice at the moment.
2.
TOR
  1. Bogosian, Zach ($1,000,000 retained)
  2. 2019 1st round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Toronto gets a big right-handed D. He's been regressing for a few years, but still played 20~is minutes a game last season. Going from Bylsma to Babcock could really help his game. Plus TO adds a pick to keep the cupboards stocked.
BUF
  1. van Riemsdyk, James
Additional Details:
BUF could use more scoring in the lineup, and JVR would be their best true LW. Plus they clearly want to get rid of Bogosian, since he was left unprotected in the expansion draft. JVR could be re-signed as well. The pick and the retention amount could be negotiated.

No thanks. I dont hate bogosian like many sabres fans and im not interested in moving a first unless its gonna be a real late one, and theres no guarantee that a winger would help that much. Value is close but theres no way id do that.

Yeah Pheasant: Neither of these deals make much sense to me, as neither would make Leafs better now or in the future. If Bozack and JVR are going to be traded I see it in a package or separate packages that adds current and long term value. But if Bozak leaves, doesn't Nylander become your first choice to take his place? I can see JVR packaged in a deal for a Dman but dealing within the division for Bogosian on a bad contract, also doesn't make sense.

Not that bad really if Nashville could do a sign and trade for Bozak. If they sign him, I'd want a conditional pick included.
As for Bogosian, from what I read he is a bit of a liability on the Sabres roster as far as cap value. Can we afford to spend our cap this way? Doubtful.
