Why on earth would you take leave of your senses and sign Brass bollard? He was awful for us before so I can't see why he'd be any better now.

Last year the man had 23 points in 62 games and was a +3 in Ottawa. Those are fine 4th line numbers. I know things didn't work out the one time he was here for 3 months, but he looks OK and can't be worse than Helm who we also trusted for a time. Just thought he'd improve our center depth and that he and Myers could rotate every now and then. Hes also one of the few ufas that will be cheap and have good amounts of experience. If we don't like him, we can bury him or flip him at the TDL.

Helm has always been a better player than Brassard, not fair to compare them other than they both are hurt in their elder years. Brassard got better deployment in his Sens time, I would expect 10-15 points on the Avs 4th. I would rather let Meyers develope than bring in a 35 year old coming off a broken leg

Helm did not score any points in 11 games last year and only had 15 points in 68 games the year before. Brassard had 19 points in just 46 games in 2021-22, and that year he played with the Flyers and the power house that Edmonton was that year. So I don't see how that's not fair especially since Helm hasn't scored that high since 2019 (17 points in 61 games). And the fact the they've both been injured and Brassard continues to produce only proves the point that Brassard would be fine in Colorado. Besides, wouldn't you want someone experienced to cover if Myers is a dud?

This is nothing against Helm of. I loved him as an Av and wish he would've stayed healthy, but we have to face today's reality with at least a backup certainty.

And if Brassard gets hurt again, we just throw Myers back in or give Foudy/Pavel a shot.
