philly could just pick thomson up for free on waivers and not take on cap for a late second next year

There are at least 3 teams that I see grabbing Thomson before PHI in the waiver order: ANA, CHI, and SJ. All 3 teams have space to add another young RD that's on the verge of cracking the NHL.

That's a good proposal

Sens downgrade Joseph to Allison but save 2.165 AAV in the process, that costs them Thomson and a pick downgrade from 2nd to 5th

Reasonable but I think Ottawa actually WANTS to keep Joseph (I want to keep him too)
