Description
If Detroit and/or Columbus are selling at or near the deadline, these two players I see as good adds for another possible run. Both Sprong and Robinson provide more versatility and flexibility with the lines, as Sprong could slot in well at 2RW or 3RW(if one of Sheary or Jeannot have established themselves there). Robinson fits well either on the 3rd or 4th line, has speed, plays a good two way game and adds a little offense. Both would make the team better and more difficult to matchup well against, as the team depth would, overall, be stronger.

Tampa gives up more futures and a couple of young players/prospects, but they also benefit for the now, and in the case of Robinson(and maybe Sprong-but less likely), they may get able to extend them for future seasons as well. Tampa won't be able to compete for the biggest names available at the tdl, but as was the case with Coleman and Goodrow(2 relatively unexpected acquisitions by Brisebous at the time as well), these two could similarly provide the final pieces for this year's team perhaps.

Seems like a reasonable return for Detroit if we don't want to keep Sprong.

I’d do that for Robinson right now, and I agree he’s a great target for Tampa Bay.

Sprong scored at a 57 point pace last year with the Kraken, spending most of his 5v5 time with the middle-6 types like Ryan Donato, Brandon Tanev, and Morgan Geekie. This move sends out next year's 2nd, a 4th three years away, and an AHL tweener to get him back at a $1M price tag - as OP said, the Bolts' goal should be to try and find more under-the-radar types at the deadline because they don't have enough future assets to get the guys that will be at the top of the market.

I mean, look at the picks and prospects Tampa has left to offer - when you add in their cap situation, how do you think they're going to be able to bring in any cheap players that are also legitimate top 6 guys?

I like the idea of Robinson, but not at that price
