Description

While.I don't believe Merela has locked up a spot after one good game, he is likely ahead of Fortier and Watson at this time. Jeannot could also easily start at 3RW, but if Merela does make the team, he probabaly gets a 2nd or 3rd line spot. Motte also likely gets his fair share of games, but with his injury history, it may be better to keep him.as ghe 13th F, at least to start. It does no good to have either ABB or Merela as a 13th F spending a bunch of games in the press box, so it makes more sense to have them getting ice time. Both have looked solid in their preseason games, so that's why they currently have the spots on the team.

i agree, motte has been really good on the pk and winning puck battles though. I wish they would scratch jeannot but I dont think that will happen but who knows, they did last season. I think its more likely that ABB and merela fight for the spot in the middle six and one will replace the other if they have a bad game. I will also say that I think at this point I would rather have ABB practing with the lightning over playing games in Syracuse because he isnt going to get any better dominating in the AHL. For Merela you could make the argument it could help him adjust to the the north american game.
