Idk I really like Brannstrom. Add Aho and like a mid round pick from Ottawa and I’d accept

It’s best for Wahlstrom personally to get waived or traded so yes.

But you’re replacing the wrong defenseman. Aho has solidified him as a very solid puck moving two way defenseman.

Ottawa really doesn't benefit from this. Putting aside the fact that I'm just not a Wahlstrom believer, losing Brannstrom is a significant hit to what is probably the best blueline Ottawa has had since Chara/Redden/Philips days. Not only that, it doesn't even clear cap space necessary to sign Pinto, which is the whole point. It's essentially 1.1mil once you consider that Kleven has to be called up to replace him. They still need more if they want to sign Pinto and be able to carry an extra skater

Why Aho? He's not waiver exempt... Or you mean it should be Wahlstrom + Aho + 3rd/4th?

Wahlstrom + 3rd would be fair IMO but it would need to be a WAIVER EXEMPT forward, need to clear the whole 2.0 AAV for this to be worth it (and sign Pinto)
