Take out Turcotte and if I'm the Kings I'm taking that.

Or counter offer: Montembeault for Copley+ 2024 4th.

If you take out Turcotte, the Habs are basically giving Montembeault for free.
Copley is trending out of the NHL quickly - you guys know that.

So if you remove Turcootte, basically the Habs are giving away Monteambeault for the difference between a 3rd and a 4th.

Again, there are 2 teams involved in every trade.

I believe that with Turcotte included, that trade offer is pretty fair.
The reason being that some people will say "decline" on both side of the equation.

And with Turcotte included, as a Habs fan, and respectfully - RESPECTFULLY - I would think the Habs decline that trade.

I don't think it's outrageous on either side. Good trade proposal.

Montembeault's availability in a trade is an interesting case for MTL. Because a lot will depend on his demands for his extension. Anything higher then $3-3.25mil AAV, I'd look to move him. Other than that, he's essentially just not for sale.

But if he were made available. A similar (or lesser) goalie is not what the Habs would want in return. It would either be packaging him with other assets to improve MTLs goaltending or trading him for assets at other positions (MTL would simply just run with Allen and Primeau at G).

So Habs would have zero interest in taking Copley. Turcotte would be an interesting prospect however....

I think Montreal would take that but that's a bit too much for LA, it's a decent offer but I think LA would rather offer less, even if it means not acquiring Montembault

In no way shape or form am I saying this is a bad trade. As a Kings fan we are very aware that our prospects take time to develop. Our development process is pretty slow compared to other teams so we are pretty patient when it comes to prospects. That being said Turcotte is literally living in the AHL on his draft hype, if the guy were drafted in the second round or later he probably wouldn't be in the AHL right now just based on his production and injuries. We are all clinging on to seeing him healthy for 1 full season to see what we really got in him and if he is healthy we expect to see a lot out of the guy. So the Kings aren't gonna give up Turcotte for free or anywhere near free.
