Description
Campbell is the significant cost here for EDM. His buyout in two years is not bad for the hawks. Just have to keep him stashed until then.
Trades
CHI
  1. Campbell, Jack
  2. Holloway, Dylan
  3. Savoie, Carter
  4. 2024 1st round pick (EDM)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Top 10 protected on a single pick until 26.

Therefore…
If top 10 in 24 then
24->25
26-> CHI

If Chicago gets 24 but 25 is top ten then …
25 -> 26

BUT if
24->25 then 25 -/> 26 if top 10.

In summation Chicago gets two of the next three firsts from EDM. They can only influence which first round pick with a low standings finish.
EDM
  1. Katchouk, Boris
  2. Kurashev, Philipp
  3. Mrázek, Petr ($1,900,000 retained)
  4. 2025 4th round pick (NYR)
  5. 2026 4th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
4th is lowest Chicago owns at time of draft.

Edmonton accepts it sucks giving up that much and will probably screw the future over if McDavid leaves but campbell has to go

Despite what that EDM fan just said...I think it's doing to much and EDM takes a pass. Kurashev has found chemistry with Bedard no doubt and could probably do the same with McDavid or Drai, but no guarantees.

I'd say drop Carter and slightly bump those picks to EDM. I'd also moved the 2025 to 2026. Just spaces out the 1sts. Can't draft everyone in a single draft.

Lastly, don't buyout Campbell. $3.5M vs $2M....just keep him in Rockford and rip off the band aid.

If I'm Kyle from Chicago I pass. Campbell costs a 1st to move. At this point Mrazek retained costs at least a 2nd. Then there's Kurashev who at 24 years old is on pace for 75 points costing the team only $2.5M for this year and next. That's at least a 1st of not two 1st round picks. Holloway and Savoie are redundant and are already nearing busts imo.

I don’t think this is even close to being enough for the Hawks to accept.

Campbell’s contract is arguably the worst value deal currently signed, the guy now has a 0.819 save percentage in the AHL, he is not even a good minor league goalie. With three more seasons after the current year carrying a $5m cap hit he is essentially unmovable UNLESS the Oilers are willing to pay a very steep price.

Looking at your proposal I would say the two 1st round picks and Holloway are what the Hawks would want for taking on Campbell’s deal and giving up Mrazek without retention. That means the Hawks would be giving up Kurashev, Katchouk and 2 x 4th round picks for a B/C level prospect in Savoie… ouch.

Kurashev definitely shooting 33% for 70 games.
