Description

Left 3C incomplete on purpose. A couple options:

1) Play Cizikas 3C and call up MacLean for a grittier role
2) Play Cizikas 4C and call up Iskhakov for a playmaking 3C role
3) Juggle the roster a bit and find a way to make a trade for someone like Adam Henrique. Has a connection to Lou and is a pending UFA.

(I think it’s likely one of Reilly/Aho would be waived or traded if a Hanifin deal happened. The remaining guy is the 7th D and Bolduc is sent to Bridgeport regardless)

Darren Dreger earlier on Leafs-Kraken pregame; Islanders are interested in Flames Noah Hanifin. Says that’s a way for Hanifin to get the extension that he wants.

Additional Details:

Give CGY the rumored “DeBrincat” package. NYI would need Pageau’s cap off the books to make the extended Hanifin work next year and beyond. In this deal structure, the Isles would NOT need CGY to retain any salary. However, if we were going to make another move to replace JGP the retention would come in handy.

The Flames may end up needing C depth if Lindholm is also traded. CGY is having a problem getting guys to commit there so they may have to go to the trade route for guys already signed to term.

Super boring response but no ones waiving for Calgary, you can't bring up the fact that we have a hard time attracting people and then send a guy with a 16 team ntc.

I mean I guess it’s possible they’re on it, but nobody can say for sure what his NTC looks like. Pageau has obviously played in Canada before. Doubt he is one of those guys who have all 7 of them on there

I tested it already and he fits comfortably. Cap will rise significantly this summer. I also expect a Lee buyout
