Kadri can still play. I think Buffalo really needs a player that can play physical and produce. The obvious problem is the contract. They will likely have to do a buyout at some point but I think Kadri has 3-4 good years left.

Kadri no retention sure.

But for Calgary to retain 24 million you are gonna have to pay for that.

Tanev won’t be used as value for a cap dump, and buffalo isn’t giving anything that Calgary needs.

Kadri at 5.5-6 mill is positive value

The question is if they are looking for the way to get out of Kadri's deal. I am pretty sure, no one will be calling to trade for him.
