The Huberdeau situation is becoming weird.
Something happened with that trade that seemed to have broken him.
I just don't get it.
Last season was terrible for him and everyone was hoping he would bounce back... and now it's even worse.
He needs to be taking a leave of absence and go in the jungle of Peru to drink some ayahuasca, then hypnosis sessions, then back to the AHL until he rediscovers his game.

The weight and expectations from his contract have literally busted him up mentally

Honestly, from a purely human standpoint, this has to be very very hard for him.
People will say "He doesn't care, look at all his money!", but that's not true. It's still most likely crushing for him.

In the social media era too, he must get some pretty nasty comments...

Wondering about his mind set - cause when asked about performance vs. contract; he basically said that he earned his contract. This felt like he was saying he worked hard to get contract; and doesn’t feel the need to continue to have to do that?? Sounded very complacent or satisfied to me; if that is the case then it does explain the lack of hunger or motivation he has shown ever since he put pen to paper on that deal.

As such, just bury him and embarrass him until he find an inkling of pride to say “ok, this sucks bad.”
