I've never thought of Jenner as a 2C option, and tbh I don't think Columbus is either. Besides they easily decline that and I don't think they want a RyJo reunion especially at that price.

As an Avs fan, the blue jackets decline. They probably aren't taking RyJo back. And the front office has been pretty hush on what's going on with Foudy. Who knows what the injury is and how long he's out for. I don't think the jackets take him on without knowing all the details first.

Columbus isn't interested in moving Jenner unless it blows us away, and most contenders would pay a premium for a 2C faceoff and goal-scoring specialist in his prime, with term, at under $4M/year, so you've got to beat out other offers.

It's not a terrible offer, but 1) we don't want a RyJo reunion, 2) we don't want a player with a mystery injury who's brother we waived and lost, 3) we don't really need more D prospects, even though Behrens looks good. It just doesn't fill our needs of centers or top-end talent, of which...Jenner is the closest to any of that in this deal.
