Wouldn't it make more sense to trade Allen to NJ? Minny has Gustafsson in net with Flower backing him up.

Gus is currently on IR but he'll be back eventually.

Devils do not need Pearson. If they are healthy, the top 9 is hard to push anyone out of.

As far as goaltending, this doesn't help the Devils at all. Give no idea of a goalie the Devils should get.

Col will pass yet again on Monahan who gets crushed in shot share, scores 50% of his points on the power play, and isn’t a great skater or in other words a smaller RyJo.

If you want the hawks to take vanecek you can send over a 3rd round pick with him. No reason to take a cap dump for free especially when you're one of the very few teams that have cap space.
Also there's zero chance Allen gets a 2nd. They'd be lucky to get a 3rd for him.

The consensus among the Avalanche fanbase is that Monahan is no fit with the Avs. Value wise your 2026 2nd round pick is better than the 2024 1st round pick that’s going on here tho.
