There's absolutely no way Columbus agrees to retain $8M over 4 years. That alone is in the two 1sts territory. No need for another RD (especially that one) and no desire for an LTIR goalie. There's just nothing to even build on here.

Two firsts is a ridiculous cost for a goalie even with retention. He's on a bad contract and some retention is going to be needed to make contending teams swallow that contract.
