Before you say anything: Pionk is totally NHL-ready. He's just stuck behind DeAngelo on the depth chart, as well as Holden (if Holden is not traded).

Don't you think if he really NHL ready, the Rangers would keep him. 23 years old, college grad, not one game of pro, I might trade him for Leivo but NHL ready?

Icegirl: I don't know what you're smoking but Pionk is anything but NHL ready! At best (undrafted) he now represents what might be a 3rd or 4th round draft choice. Leivo who will likely be traded or waived doesn't look to bring back anything more than that. Trade. . . Don't trade. . . But don't make it out to be something it's not. Relatively meaningless!

Did you guys watch the Rangers' preseason games? Pionk passed the eyetest with flying colors and was better defensively than DeAngelo. If my team had a 3RD vacancy, I'd love for them to fill it with Pionk.

This trade is a waste of time for the Leafs as Leivo is worth alot more than the unproven Pionk so this deal would never get done.

The Leafs will solve their RD situation by simply getting one of their quality left handed D to play on the right side for the time being. Their defense is actually alot better than the media realizes.
