Can't imagine why the Blues would want to retain on Hayes for 3 years for a 3rd. He's been fine here

Blues decline. Hayes is a good stopgap for our team while we wait for the prospects to develop. No need to trade and use a retention slot on him for 3 years only for a 3rd

Sheary won't waive his NTC in his first year, and probably not for Calgary.

Would probably take more for the Blues to retain on Hayes

I'd be cool with that return if I was Calgary but, I don't know why Hanifin to TBL rumors started.
They can't afford to bring him back so he's really only there for half a year and they've been streaky all year, is there really any optimism that they can really compete this year?

Gonna need to do better than that with all that retention. Of course, Tampa really doesn;t have a ton to do better with at the moment.
