Description
After last night's game, Keefer (lol Bobby McMann) needs to go 3 balanced lines from now on.

Leafs need try to avoid dealing a 1st Rd pick, Minten or Cowan.

Go get a shutdown RD for Rielly.

I wonder if a Carrier swap in place of Liljegren adds a bit of a new dimension. Pretty close in terms of playing style, but Carrier a bit more mature, battle hardened and has a bit more snarl, doesn't back down, stands up for teammates & less mistake prone under pressure.

At this point, I feel Tanev is the only realistic option to pair with Rielly. I would hope the plan would be in place for him to sign an extension, and get done without dealing the 1st.

The only other options stylistically who are definitely available are:
-Rutta (meh, but comes with a 2nd year)
-Lyubushkin (what he brings in size/physicality, lacks in literally everything else)

Options as a 7-8th big, stay-at-home RD, which could be had for cheap, but miiiiight just be able to play with Rielly (if the Leafs strike out on everyone else or decide they aren't spending):
-Burroughs
-Brown
-Kovacevic (I wouldn't be opposed to trading a late pick for JK as the 7-8th D, cheap contract for another year)

Players with term I could see work, but just dont think will available, unless a deal was made that their team could not refuse:
-Gudbranson (Mean, stay-at-home, leader, slightly expensive cap hit)
-Larsson (Pretty good all around, would be an ideal get, especially at his cap hit)
-Savard (Experienced, leader, brings a touch of offense too)
-Borgen (Younger, cheaper, big, physical)

All others are just of targets I like from probable sellers, but I can't see the Leafs spending assets on (ie. forward group, or expensive LD's).

Carrick - late pick
Lyubushkin - 3rd round pick + c prospect or another late pick (but would be happy with a 3rd alone)
Henrique - 1st plus prospect or 2nd plus B or higher prospect

I don't think Henrique is worth a deadline trade. Not that I would not want to see him in a leafs uniform. I would rather sign him as a ufa for a decent deal.if he was willing.
He would not be a needle mover this year for us.

None of the CBJ guys are really available, per se. I could see Provorov or Tex going if a big-enough package is offered; but, Kuraly is the local guy and a great B6 C. Guds is probably overpaid, but he's a great locker-room guy and is kind of bouncing back. Danforth just signed his extension, so I dont see him going anywhere.
