You should always try to improve your team. But I agree. I wouldn’t move assets for doughty right now. Although I wouldn’t be against trading jvr for younger peices.

Agreed that maybe LA moves Doughty. Would think closer to TDL, to maybe save this season, but strictly from a hockey view, it makes sense forLAl. ong term. Let's forget the about the this bit about Kings negotiating with JVR about a new deal while a member of the Leafs. This never happens (well maybe during the summer). Why guys put in these never happening clauses, I just don't know. But if the Leafs are "going for it" by acquiring Doughty as a short term rental, the Leafs would not want to trade 30 goal scorer JVR also. So strictly for futures....Kapanen, Liljegren and another future makes sense for the Kings.
