Wouldn’t come close to getting Jack alone for that let alone Luke+Marino

I appreciate the creativity of trading both EP’s for the Hughes boys but I don’t see it.

Jack for EP40 is a coin flip itself depending on the person viewing the two of them. Personally I’d take EP40 from a pure hockey standpoint but Jack is right there as well and he’s probably the easiest player to market right now, which means a ton to owners.

I believe Jack is third in non-local marketing $.

It's a coinflip if it weren't the salary cap era and neither player had a contract.

Then you look at the fact that pettersson wants 12 mill+, is 2 years older
Jack makes 8 mill and is still developing.

Let's assume they are equal quality players (I'd much rather have Jack who's still developing).
Let's assume a 12.5 mill AAV extension for Pettersson.

That is 27 million dollars in surplus value for Jack. And then you consider the fact that Pettersson doesn't want to resign in Vancouver in this scenario and the leverage is all in NJDs hands and the premium goes even further up
