Description
Here is the link to my full theory: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/4929808

To summarize:

There are 4 common themes I see in every cup winning team for the last 15 years:
1: A top 3 pick on the roster (if he is not Canadian, he MUST be a first overall pick)
2: First line center MUST be under age 30
3: Clear and obvious number 1 defenseman on the team
4: Highest draft pick on the roster is typically Canadian

Every cup winning team in the last 15 years has met all 4 of those standards, except for one: Vegas in 2023, who only meets 3 of the standards. They needed their highest draft pick on the roster to be top 3 and Canadian, or first overall of any nationality, however Eichel was 2nd overall and American. As close as you can get.

Every cup winner of the last 15 years has had:
1: A first line center under age 30
And AT LEAST one, if not both, of the following:
2: A first overall pick of any nationality, OR a top 3 pick who is Canadian
3: A Canadian first line center

Meeting all 3 of those standards gives you the highest odds to win a cup. Meeting two is also meeting the standards required, but the odds are slightly lower. Not a single team has won the cup only meeting one, or none, of the three standards.

Let's see how we can (somewhat realistically) bring this team to a contender that meets these standards:

The bruins to-do list isn't easy. They do have a clear cut top defenseman, however they need:
1: a top 3 pick who is Canadian, OR a first overall pick of any nationality.
2: A first line center under age 30
*3: A Canadian first line center OR a first overall pick (if still needed after steps 1 and 2)

Norris is out significant time again. Got hurt last game against Nashville. Same shoulder too I believe that he’s had surgery on twice

Yeah I saw that earlier. Sad to see, really talented player, and would actually be a great fit for boston assuming he'd be healthy.

Not sure Norris is worth that tbh... as the Sens fans have said, he seems to be injury prone and seems to be pretty comparable to Zacha

It’s been quite sad for him. Definitely hurting his mental too. Talented and young but man, he needs a bionic shoulder at this point to make it through a season
