Eichel was overpaid, everyone knows this. Buffalo would have paid Eichel 12million if he threatened to leave.

Matthews understands that he has a real chance to win a Stanley Cup so he takes the discount.
In addition, even if you increase Matthews contract to 11Million, it would still fit under the cap. Just do not sign Nillson.

I am just proving the Leafs have so much extra money, that they could afford a solid 3rd goalie, 7th defense and some good forwards.

No he doesn't. Matthews will want to be paid more than eichel.

Matthews at 9 ? What about 12 ? and so on ... im offering sheet Marner at this price any day of the week and same for Nylander ... either way this team defense and goalies are putrid at best and would play a 7 game stretch against a defense like Nashville or the other one good defense in that league ... Matthews with less than Eichel ,,, sad story ...

Marner and Nylander have very similair pay to Pasternak, and for those thinking Matthews will get 12million. You are out of your mind. McDavid making 12million was a mistake.

In addition to the offer-sheets. No one in the NHL offer-sheets anybody anymore. Look at AA.... He isnt even playing, due to contract dispute and still no offer-sheet.
