Based on his signing record, Tof seems to be cup chasing, not going for money. Could we write a large enough check to compensate? Maybe, but it wouldn't be consistent with what he's doing.

I think the Ducks can score 5v5 okay, and with Cutter and Z in the roster full time that should resolve a lot of those scoring woes, but we just need to stop getting penalized. We're spending over 14 minutes per game down a man, the next closest team is over a full minor penalty less, per game.

I would get a shutdown RHD to mentor Mintyukov and send it for the season.

I disagree with you on this one (which is rare). We’re a bottom 3 NHL team when it comes to scoring, we could use a new addition up front beyond rookie Gauthier. My dream scenario would be overpaying Stammer for a 2 year deal so we get the production and much needed leadership with minimal term to avoid any impact 3 years from now when we have to pay Zegras, Minty, Leo, and Zellweger

I do agree with a RD though. Pesce please 🤞

Also down to shop Gibson. I’m confident in Dostal. If we could flip him for something worthwhile and get the $6.4M off the books for that third year in particular I’d be game

Beyond that, I’m in favor selling Lundestroms rights this offseason as well if it returns anything. His point production is just too low, even for the bottom 6. Maybe a Gibson + Lunde for Holtz based trade?

As far as our lines, I’m very much against shifting Zellweger to the right side, and I think Luneau should season in the AHL for a year. D lines:
Minty - Pesce 🙏
Zell - Gudas
Lacombe - Fowler

Love the Stammer idea - I think the tiers of RW signings we can make go Reinhart - Stamkos - Toffoli/Marchessault - everyone else, with only those 4 having a chance of Top 6 + PP1 minutes.
Think Pesce would be great for this team, either long-term or as a bridge before 2024 Top 5 D is ready.

I'd be worried the kind of term Stamkos will demand and his decline has been very noticable on the ice. He's still putting up points but his foot speed is completely gone, in Cronin's system, that's going to be a problem.

Reinhart is going to cost a ton, but I'd love to land him, young enough and very much a Verbeek type guy.

There's also Guentzel if we just need points but again, cost to acquire.

I guess I'm just not wildly impressed with the current UFA crop at RW combined with the cap jump and everyone will be looking for big paydays.

Agree, I'd balk at anything over 3 years for Stammer. I love Guentzel, but he's a lefty and primarily a LW. Unless we draft Demidov/another top RW, I think this offseason is the time to sign someone. Next offseason has Marner, Boeser, Konecny, who all seem unlikely to reach the free market, and basically nobody else.
