Considering both are bad, I would rather have the one that ends sooner and costs less real dollars.
Vlasic makes $3M less than Anderson in the final years of his deal.
Especially for a team like Montreal who would likely prefer to a playoff team in two years, that year less term will be very valuable.
Please explain to me though why you think Anderson's contract is better?

Anderson is still a good 3rd liner and no reason to trade him for a worst contract and worst position (within the organization) AND pay with a valuable asset in barron
